About the Kubernetes hub

Kubernetes solved a real problem and handed everyone a new set of them. The episodes here are less about kubectl trivia and more about living with clusters in production: how pods actually get scheduled and evicted, why your rollouts stall, and where the line sits between a healthy abstraction and a leaky one that pages you at 3am. Managed control planes like EKS and GKE moved the pain around rather than removing it, and we talk about where it landed.

We dig into the day-two reality that the getting-started guides skip, from Helm charts that drift to autoscaling that fights itself to the eternal question of how much cluster complexity a team should own. If you're operating Kubernetes rather than just demoing it, these conversations are about keeping it boring, debuggable, and cheaper than it wants to be.

Frequently asked questions

What's the focus of the Kubernetes podcast hub?

Living with clusters in production rather than kubectl trivia: how pods get scheduled and evicted, why rollouts stall, the line between a healthy abstraction and a leaky one, and the day-two reality managed control planes like EKS and GKE just moved around.

Is this for beginners or operators?

It is aimed at people operating Kubernetes rather than demoing it — Helm drift, autoscaling that fights itself, and deciding how much cluster complexity a team should own.

How do episodes land in this hub?

Episodes are auto-matched on Kubernetes topics — k8s, EKS/GKE, Helm, kubectl, containers, and pods — so the list reflects the most recent relevant episodes.

Where can I read the Kubernetes news instead?

On Call Brief's Kubernetes News, linked on this page, is the weekly written digest of releases, CVEs, and networking and storage changes for operators.
